Snow Challenge at Boy Scout Camp

Preston and I had a date Saturday at the Boy Scout Camp with his Beaver Group. A beautiful balmy winter day. We couldn't have asked for nicer weather, in the snow that is.

This is what Beavers call forming a river bank, this is how they open meetings. Preston is by the side of the car.

First Event....sliding....here they come...
getting ready to hit the jump at the end.

< I took this picture while Preston and Michael were having a cute conversation..
M: Preston your sled is the coolest, It rocks
P: Yeah I know
M: Wanna be friends at school
P: Well I can't bring my sled to school you know .

Next event, a relay race, but I didn't take any photos of that
Next was a board ski race, All about teamwork, and it helps if you know your left from your right.

Next event ....Triage they had to make a stretcher out of 2 tree limbs and some rope. They were taught how to cross them and tie them up. They then had to determine who needed attention first. Realizing they had to carry that person, they chose the smallest in the troup.

Yup, this snowball is aimed at me.......hope he misses.
Next.....learning how to build a makeshift shelter.
they loved these, Preston said he was going to sleep there all night
Next on to Ice bowling.... a spot was shovelled out on the lake and they bowled with windshield washer jugs and trash cans. It was hilarious to watch.

The last event was hot chocolate and chocolate chip cookies bakes on an open flame outside......I was enjoying this too much to get my camera out. Then inside to get our wet snowy clothes off and a spaghetti dinner... his favorite

Dish #ONE

............dish #TWO notice that everyone else has left the table....
dish # THREE.... ready to go home and go to bed !
