Soccer Super Stars

Soccer Super Stars....Not ! Every Tuesday and Thursday they are sooooo excited to be getting ready for Soccer !!! This is no small feat . They put on the shorts themselves, then we attempt the socks, soccer socks are very tight fitting..we get them pulled up to their knees after much tugging. Done ! ooops we forgot to put the shinpads under the socks. We roll them back down strap shin pads in place..for all the kicking and rough-housing that will be going on in the next hour. Haha. After socks and shorts and sneakers they eat a really quick dinner. Next come the Jerseys...we put them on last so dinner does not end up all down the front of them. I make sure water bottles are filled and in the soccer bag along with their balls. Load in the car, buckle up, and off to soccer we go. Run , Hurry , lets play Soccer !!Yipeeeeee. They greet all their friends with hellos and hugs. Now it is time for some drills..It all goes down hill from here. They become lazy bug hunting sit on the ballers ! Even after all my team participation speeches. Destiny makes her coach carry her around the field with feet dangling hoping to make some sort of contact with the ball. Preston always wants to be goalie, due to his pursuasive nature he usually gets his way...his idea of being goalie is standing back to with his hands on the top of the goal post watching another game or the playground. I am so proud !! Tonite we went to soccer and it was cancelled due to thunder before soccer drills even started. But it was well worth the trip because Soccer Pics came back today...and from the pictures you can't even tell they don't like the game all that much.
